Jamaica Sustainable Development Network


The Jamaica Sustainable Development Network Ltd, is a not for profit, non governmental organization which had it beginnings as an initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It is part of a global programme developed in response to Agenda 21, which articulated the need for improved information dissemination to support sustainable development. After five years as a UNDP programme (1998-2002), the Network was registered under The Companies Act of Jamaica. The programme is geared towards facilitating communication between users and suppliers of sustainable development information in developing countries.
Objectives

To introduce and connect public, private and non-government sector agencies to local and international sources of information on sustainable development utilising the Internet and other communication tools.

To develop appropriate information services to support the implementation of local and national development plans.

To provide information on Jamaica’s environment and social and economic development via the Internet to the international community
